You're my favourite disaster

Film mad,(very) amateur political pundit, square eyed, hypochondriac .

Currently reading: Mark Kermode: It’s Only a Movie.

I’ve been aware of this book for a while, but not got it until now because I wasn’t that aware of him. A couple of years ago I saw him and Simon Mayo at the Greenbelt Festival where they were interviewing David Morrissey (who I actually came to see !) about his new charity film. I really enjoyed it, and laughed a lot but then I forgot about them until a few weeks ago, I downloaded one of their podcasts and loved it.

Over the past week I’ve listened too about 15 and have started to feel edgy when I can’t hear them. So I bought Kermode’s two books, and started with this one, which I’m basically half way through and really enjoying. It’s more about Films than his actual life though. But I guess the two are inextricably intertwined.

Anyway, if you are a big film buff like me, I’d really recommend reading the books, but listen to a few podcasts first because he’s quite divisive.

Their called something like Mayo and Kermode’s film review, on Five live (they’re on ITunes ).
